Meet Our Team

Our team is quite unique in the fact that a majority of our team has a health field background and passion for health and fitness.  Our other components have excelled in the dance fields which is perfectly suited with Pilates.  How we really differ from any other studio, we love precision and above we love to have a lot of FUN!!

Lindsey Fogle Mat

LINDSEY FOGLE

I grew up and graduated highschool in Sexsmith before moving to Lethbridge where I graduated from college with a 2 year  Massage Therapy Certificate. With my background in massage therapy for over ten years, I have extensive training in anatomy and muscle movement.  Also working along side Physiotherapists this past year, I have gained even more knowledge towards my Pilates passion. I grew up playing volleyball, fastball, and the last few years have taken on golf. I’ve always enjoyed trying new fitness exercises, but from the first time I tried Pilates I was hooked! The strength and flexibility I gained in such a short time amazed me, not only was I stronger, but my body has never felt better, no more aches and pain. It has truly become a way of life for me! When I’m not in the studio, I’m usually in the arena watching my two boys Jett and Max play hockey or out at the lake with the family enjoying the outdoors and sneaking in some relaxation.

I’m a very hands on instructor, making sure my clients form and movement is correct, so they are able to get the most out of their workout, and gain strength quickly. One of my favorite things about working with a client is watching how quickly their core strength improves after just a few sessions, you can see how encouraged and excited they are!

I love to teach a fun class that is easily modified for every individuals needs, so everyone is challenged and never bored.

I have taken my STOTT PILATES® training for mat, advanced mat, and reformer through Merrithew™.  Recently have been certified in Total Barre® and HALO® trainer, which I’m excited for everyone to try out!

Looking forward to seeing everyone down at the studio, please drop in and I would love to show you a few exercises!!

LAURA BARON

Laura is our labeled as our Favorite Instructor for Beginners. She is strong in many ways but she speaks beautifully to people who have never done pilates before. She always has clients coming back and raving about her. She loves to teach Reformer classes and while she is not at the studio she is running around after a beautiful little girl and charming puppy dog.

Heather ostrander

Heather was first introduced to Pilates in a dance studio in the late 90’s. After attending some
university, and doing several years of intense ballet training, she decided to put her movement
experience to use and take a Pilates instruction course. In 2005, she moved to Toronto, became
certified to teach STOTT PILATES Ⓡ Matwork Ⓡ and Reformer Ⓡ , then returned home to Calgary,
where she taught Pilates (around school and other work) for several years. However, the more
experience she had with teaching, the more intrigued she became with the Pilates technique…
and so in 2013 she completed her STOTT PILATES Ⓡ education, expanding her repertoire to
include the exercises at the advanced level, as well as on the other large equipment. From then until 2017, Heather increased her teaching commitments and built up a client base. Just by coincidence, she ended up specializing in working with people who prefer to avoid traditional exercise and movement environments (such as gyms and dance studios). Her clients in the past have included retired people who have physical restrictions or are generally deconditioned, “reluctant exerciseres”, and youth with developmental delays. In late 2017 Heather moved north to GP to be with her husband. Despite arriving in the midst of a very snowy winter, she’s excited to be up here, and is enjoying the city. She’s settling into a new day job, and looking forward to easing Pilates teaching back into her schedule. Learning new things, especially about movement and the body, is something Heather always finds pleasurable, so she takes related courses (most recently an anatomy refresher, and an introduction to Benesh movement notation), and likes trying out bodywork disciplines besides Pilates (such as Gyrokinesis and Alexander technique). She also started taking piano lessons, which has given her a new appreciation of the coordination challenges faced by some of her Pilates clients. She enjoys helping people tune in to the subtleties of the mechanics of their own
body, leading to increased body awareness, and from there, onto safer and more effective use of their body- both in terms of posture, and when in motion.
As a STOTT PILATES Ⓡ trained and certified instructor, Heather meets the high standards they
set, in terms of knowledge, ability, and professional conduct. She has a patient and cheerful
teaching demeanour, and a large repertoire of exercises - for a variety of equipment, or no
equipment at all! She holds a current level “C” First Aid/CPR certificate, and is a member of the
NHPC.

Sharon Siebert

I am thrilled to be teaching at the Pilates Barre GP. A little bit about me and how I got introduced.

I have a wonderful husband and four amazing kids. But after four pregnancies I found myself with a terrible weak core and low back pain. I was recommended Pilates from my physiotherapist for recovery and strength, I started private classes right away. Not only did my core and back pain improve immensely, I FELL IN LOVE!!

I fell in love with the challenge and growth within each exercise. I loved how it changed my body with more flexibility, and strength. Pilates is low impact and can be adjusted to suit anyone, I can continue to grow and practice well into my old age. Now with my training, I get to share my love with others!
